Human Rights in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)

 Hello Readers,

My name is Thierry Thys and welcome to my blog on the topic of Human Rights. I am a student at the University of Nevada, Reno and I am studying for a Major in International Relations. On this blog, I will focus on the conditions, politics, and history of human rights in the Middle East and North Africa or MENA. I believe that the subject of Human Rights in MENA deserves a great attention due to the distance between MENA and North America which leads to details being lost in understanding human rights in the region. Historical context, contemporary politics, and observing modern conflicts gives a greater insight into the development of the conditions of human rights in the region and how they affect the people of the Middle East and North Africa. I hope to give a better understanding of MENA Human Rights and society through this blog and to bring awareness to the people who are often not paid enough attention to in the world. Any comments, criticisms, and questions are welcome on the blog.
